Position Purpose:
Executes the AI governance framework, ensuring that established policies and strategies are effectively implemented across the organization.
Leads day-to-day management of AI governance programs, overseeing teams responsible for monitoring AI systems, addressing compliance requirements, and implementing risk management protocols. Collaborates with various departments and stakeholders to promote a culture of ethical AI innovation and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines. Ensures fairness, transparency, and accountability in the development and deployment of AI systems across the organization, mitigating potential biases and discriminatory outcomes, and fostering trust with members and the public.
Executes comprehensive AI governance framework that aligns with organizational goals, ethical principles, and regulatory requirements
Translates high-level AI-specific policies and strategies into actionable processes, guidelines, and operational workflows within the organization. Addresses data governance, bias mitigation, transparency, accountability, and risk management
Monitors and conducts AI risk assessments to identify potential ethical, legal, and societal risks associated with AI applications. Reports on findings to senior leadership and the VP of AI Governance.
Implements the AI ethics guidelines for the organization including for models developed by the organization or third parties on which the organization relies
Performs project level risk analysis to determine success criteria or identify risks for model development outcomes
Develops and implements AI training and awareness programs for employees and stakeholders on AI governance principles, ethical considerations, and best practices
Manages a team of AI professionals to ensure consistent application of AI governance standards across the organization
Advocates for the understanding of human reactions and behaviors, for those working with AI, adjacent to AI, or receiving an output from AI as part of overall AI ethics
Promotes AI literacy across the organization, fostering a shared understanding of AI's impact and facilitating smooth adoption
Monitors and evaluates the performance and impact of AI systems on the organization and its stakeholders
Establishes metrics and benchmarks to assess the effectiveness of AI governance controls and identify areas for improvement
Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Law, or Healthcare Management or related field; or equivalent experience required.
7+ years leadership experience in related field.
Technical Skills:
Experience with and deep understanding of AI governance frameworks, ethical principles, and best practices required
Strong knowledge of the healthcare industry, including relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and ethical considerations required
Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with AI technologies required
Experience in developing and implementing AI compliance programs preferred
Experience with AI model development and deployment preferred
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices preferred

Position Purpose:
Ensures AI applications, products, and solutions adhere to established company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Conducts compliance assessments, performs risk evaluations, and reviews and assesses AI systems to identify potential issues both before and after deployment. The incumbent works closely with AI development teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders to support responsible AI practices while documenting findings and recommendations in clear, evidence based, and actionable reports.
Performs compliance reviews of AI applications and products to assess alignment with internal policies, governance standards, and standard operating procedures, including verification of required documentation, approvals, and controls prior to production deployment.
Conducts structured risk assessments of AI systems across their lifecycle, identifying and documenting risks related to bias, privacy, security, safety, model behavior, and regulatory non compliance; evaluate risk likelihood, impact, and adequacy of mitigation controls.
Reviews model development practices, data handling procedures, deployment controls, and technical artifacts (e.g., model cards, system architecture documentation) to identify compliance gaps and discrepancies between documented capabilities and actual system behavior.
Investigates AI system incidents, complaints, or governance concerns by analyzing system behavior, data flows, and decision logic; document investigative methods, evidence reviewed, and conclusions reached.
Conducts hands on testing and probing of AI systems to validate documented claims regarding performance and behavior, and support ongoing monitoring of deployed systems.
Tracks compliance and risk findings, remediation actions, and residual risk through maintained risk registers and supporting documentation; verify corrective actions are implemented and documented.
Partners with AI development teams, product owners, and subject matter experts to gather information for assessments and investigations, and prepare clear findings, executive summaries, and recommendations for leadership and governance stakeholders.
Monitors trends in compliance and risk findings to identify systemic issues and support continuous improvement of AI governance practices; stay current with evolving AI regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree Information Systems, Risk Management, Compliance, Data Science, or a related field or equivalent experience required. Master's Degree preferred
Technical Skills:
3+ years progressively responsible experience in compliance, risk assessment, audit, or quality assurance, preferably supporting technology or AI enabled systems required
Working knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts, including supervised learning, generative AI, and model evaluation approaches required
Demonstrated ability to analyze technical documentation, identify compliance and risk issues, and gather supporting evidence required
Experience supporting risk assessments and drafting findings with actionable recommendations required
Understanding of the AI lifecycle as defined by NIST preferred
Proven track record creating and maintaining thorough documentation required

Position Purpose: Leads the technical evaluation and assurance efforts within our AI Governance team. Establishes enterprise-grade, decision-relevant methodologies for red teaming, testing, and evaluating AI systems across traditional ML, Generative AI, and Agentic AI applications, ensuring evaluations directly inform AI governance decisions, deployment readiness, and ongoing oversight.
Develops reproducible frameworks to measure AI value, user impact, and broader outcomes to support responsible scaling, risk acceptance, and investment decisions
Designs rigorous evaluation methodologies for assessing AI system performance, safety, reliability, and alignment with intended use across the AI lifecycle, from development through deployment and monitoring
Develops criteria and benchmarks to determine whether existing evaluations are adequate and sufficient for different AI applications and risk profiles
Designs and executes comprehensive red team exercises to identify vulnerabilities, failure modes, and unintended behaviors across diverse AI systems and devise solutions to address them
Develops rigorous evaluation methodologies and criteria to assess whether existing evaluations are adequate and sufficient for different AI applications and risk profiles
Establishes standards for evaluation coverage, rigor, and documentation across the AI lifecycle
Establishes reproducible methodologies for measuring business value, user impact, and societal outcomes of AI systems using causal inference and experimental design
Advances the scientific understanding of AI evaluation and safety through white papers and trainings
Provides technical leadership and mentorship to scientists, engineers, and compliance professionals while building organizational evaluation capabilities
Stays at the forefront of AI safety research and identify novel risks emerging from advanced AI capabilities, particularly in frontier models
Translates complex technical findings into actionable recommendations for leadership, governance boards, and cross-functional teams
Collaborates with external researchers, institutions, and industry partners to advance evaluation methodology and contribute to the broader AI safety community

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related quantitative field; or equivalent experience required. Master's Degree preferred
Technical Skills:
6+ years AI/ML research, including 3+ years focused on model evaluation, safety, or robustness required. 8+ years preferred
Deep technical expertise in modern AI systems with hands-on experience evaluating large language models, generative AI, and/or agentic systems required
Proven track record designing rigorous evaluation methodologies and publication record required
Strong foundation in statistical methods, experimental design, causal inference, and excellent Python programming skills with ML frameworks required
Familiarity with Python‑based AI/ML stack using PyTorch and Databricks, with agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) for single‑ and multi‑agent systems. Strong focus on LLM observability, MLOps, and evaluation using LangSmith, MLflow, Weights & Biases, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and testing frameworks like DeepEval and LangTest
