Senior Advisor, Model Risk Monitoring
Canada
Server-rendered summary of Desjardins's open remote positions.
We're analyzing Desjardins's remote work culture to provide detailed insights.
As part of its activities, Desjardins Group uses a large number of quantitative models to support its product and service offer and to properly manage its risks, with the goal of always doing what’s best for members and clients. While these models provide indisputable decision-making support, their use leads to further risks that must in turn be analyzed, assessed and mitigated. To this end, a model-specific governance framework must be in place throughout their life cycle—from design to removal—including performance monitoring and various other development phases. As a senior advisor, model risk monitoring, you contribute to the analysis, research and development of model risk management frameworks. You provide advice, support and leadership for users, designers and model validators so that they can provide an overview of the risks associated with Desjardins’s range of models. You propose solutions to improve or optimize model governance management frameworks and tools to strengthen the controls applied to reduce model risk. You prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans to enhance model risk reporting. You help develop positions on complex situations involving models that require analysis and sufficient knowledge of the model’s area of application. Since coordination is critical, you interact with key players working in other fields related to models. You serve as a specialist advisor and subject matter expert in model governance. You also serve as a resource person and assistant for decision-making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to:
Help set up and maintain the model governance framework covering the entire model life cycle
Contribute to the sound management of model risk throughout the model life cycle, in collaboration with the various teams involved
Update the annual model risk assessment and suggest improvements to the methodology as needed
Produce the specific analyses required for this risk
Maintain an inventory of models and obtain the required information from stakeholders
Participate in annual planning to support model governance and propose an annual plan to update the inventory
Document the process for updating the inventory and model risk
Provide business intelligence by developing dashboards that include risk appetite indicators
Contribute to the cross-sector process that helps operationalize model governance and resolve issues in terms of model-routing, where applicable
Act as superuser for the model risk governance tool
Follow up on the findings issued with respect to the models to assess their business impact
Regularly monitor model risk governance practices, drawing on your contacts in the industry and related publications
