Represents the model validation program / portfolio for internal/external regulatory audits and/or examinations.
Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
Leads the research and development for validation of new types of models.
Leads and integrates the monitoring, measurement & reporting of the status of the model validation program / portfolio to internal & external stakeholders.
Provides input into the planning and implementation of ongoing operational programs in support of the model vetting framework and portfolio.
Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes.
Develops validation strategies and plans to ensure appropriate type and level of vetting of models is carried out.
Independently validates / tests models and their associated assumptions, benchmarks, and supporting documentation against model vesting process, standards, guidelines and principles; assesses the data for model development as well as inputs to the model; compares validation results with model developer results for replicability.
Identifies deficiencies, conditions for model use, recommends changes, and escalates as required; quantifies model risks, documents outcomes and communicates with stakeholders.
Identifies where corrective actions are required and escalates per guidelines; monitors and ensures corrective action is taken.
Provides technical advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of the model vetting framework, and resolution of model risk issues.
Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of business and related risk management requirements and legislative/ regulatory directives and guidance.
Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
Monitors and tracks performance; addresses any issues.
Coordinates and monitors the review and sign-off of model validation reporting including model inventory and model inventory attestations.
Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

Qualifications:
Typically requires 3–5 years of relevant experience with Market Risk or CCR models, along with a Master’s or PhD degree in a related field of study,.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of model validation, model risk management practices.
In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

The ideal candidate combines technical depth in AI/ML systems, strong security and monitoring instincts, and the ability to define practical controls for complex, fast-evolving agentic and generative AI environments. We expect U.S. based working hours with the majority of the team working East and Central Time Zones. You Are Likely To Succeed If: 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: security engineering, detection engineering, observability engineering, site reliability engineering, application security, ML platform engineering, or AI governance implementation. Experience designing monitoring, logging, telemetry, or detection strategies for distributed systems, cloud services, or data-intensive applications. Familiarity with AI/ML system architecture, including large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, inference pipelines, model APIs, and agentic workflows. Experience translating governance, risk, or policy requirements into operational controls and measurable technical requirements. Strong understanding of security concepts such as identity and access management, least privilege, data protection, abuse prevention, auditability, and incident response. Experience investigating system behavior, identifying anomalies, and working cross-functionally to drive remediation. Hold industry certifications (or equivalent experience): CISSP, CCSP, GIAC Machine Learning Engineer (GMLE) Strong written communication skills, including ability to write standards, control definitions, runbooks, and leadership-facing summaries. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AI observability tooling, tracing frameworks, or telemetry pipelines for LLM or agent-based systems. Experience implementing controls for AI safety, AI red teaming, prompt security, model misuse detection, or secure tool execution. Familiarity with Microsoft security, compliance, and AI governance ecosystems. Familiarity with trust and safety concepts for generative AI and autonomous systems. Experience supporting internal governance, risk, privacy, or compliance review processes for AI-enabled products. Role Overview As a Real Estate Expert – AI Evaluation Team at REAL, you will be responsible for working hands-on with real estate data and turning it into structured, high-quality inputs that power our platform. This is a highly operational role with a strong analytical component. You will work closely with lease agreements, property documents, and asset-related data, primarily within the U.S. commercial real estate market, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability. The role is ideal for someone with a background in U.S. commercial real estate or property management who enjoys working with data, going into details, and making things structured and scalable. What You’ll Do Review and process real estate documents (leases, property data, plans) on a daily basis Extract key data points from contracts and input them into structured systems Work with U.S. commercial real estate documents and terminology Clean, organize, and validate large volumes of data Identify inconsistencies, missing data, and anomalies, and resolve them Work closely with internal teams to ensure data is accurate and aligned with product needs Support onboarding of new customer data into the system Maintain high data quality and accuracy standards Improve internal workflows and data handling processes over time Gradually build domain expertise in real estate data and customer use cases What We’re Looking For 2–4 years of experience in U.S. commercial real estate / property management / PropTech (CRE – strong advantage) Experience working with contracts, leases, or property-related documents Native-level English – must (ability to read, write, and understand professional documents and contracts in English) Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high accuracy Comfortable working with data (Excel / Google Sheets required) Analytical mindset and ability to spot issues in data Ability to work independently and handle operational tasks at scale Strong sense of ownership and responsibility Technical curiosity and willingness to work with data systems Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with different teams

The compensation available for this role can be between $130,000 - $160,000 CAD. This range is dependent on experience. There is also a performance-based bonus structure available.
