About the Role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and analytically strong Non‑Model Risk Reviewer to support the independent review, challenge, and governance of non-model tools used across the organization. These tools include quantitative calculators, automated spreadsheets, decision rules, pricing tools, scenario generators, and other processes that inform business decisions but do not meet the definition of a formal model under enterprise Model Risk policies.

This role ensures these tools are fit for purpose, accurate, well‑controlled, and compliant with internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Independent Review & Validation

Conduct independent assessment of non-model tools, including calculators, spreadsheets, rules-based engines, decision aids, and vendor utilities.
Evaluate conceptual soundness, design logic, assumptions, and inputs/outputs.
Perform replication testing, benchmarking, and sensitivity analysis where appropriate.
Assess the adequacy of documentation, governance, change controls, and user access.

2. Risk Assessment & Classification

Determine risk tiering (e.g., high, medium, low) of non-model tools in accordance with enterprise standards.
Identify inherent risks (operational, data, implementation, usage).
Assess compensating controls and make recommendations for risk mitigation.

3. Governance & Policy Compliance

Ensure compliance with the enterprise Non‑Model Risk Framework, Model Risk Policy, and Operational Risk Standards.
Provide effective challenge to tool owners, developers, and business partners.
Maintain accurate inventory records and lifecycle management documentation.

4. Reporting & Communication

Prepare clear and concise review reports, issue logs, and remediation recommendations.
Communicate findings to developers, business owners, risk committees, and senior management.
Track remediation progress and perform closure verification.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.
Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
Experience reviewing spreadsheets, calculators, or rules-based tools.
Familiarity with operational risk or model risk governance principles.
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred

2+ years’ experience in Risk Management, MRM, Audit, or a quantitative/business analytics function.
Knowledge of tool validation, model validation, or internal audit methodologies.
Proficiency in Excel/VBA, Python, SQL, or other analytical tools.
Understanding of data quality, controls, and system implementation testing.

AI Ethics & Responsible Use * Conduct ethical impact assessments for AI systems, including bias evaluation, fairness analysis, and risk mitigation. * Ensure AI applications uphold public‑sector values such as equity, accessibility, and non‑discrimination. * Promote ethical design practices, including explainability, human‑in‑the‑loop controls, and community‑centered considerations. * Provide guidance on emerging ethical concerns such as generative AI, automated decision‑making, and surveillance technologies. Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Alignment * Monitor federal, state, and local regulations related to AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, and algorithmic accountability. * Ensure city AI systems comply with applicable laws, standards, and best practices. * Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for AI‑related operational, legal, and ethical risks. * Maintain documentation for auditability, transparency, and public reporting. Stakeholder Engagement & Training * Collaborate with city departments, legal teams, IT staff, and community stakeholders to ensure responsible AI adoption. * Provide training and guidance on AI governance, ethics, and compliance requirements. * Support public transparency initiatives, including communication materials and community engagement efforts. * Serve as a subject‑matter expert on responsible AI practices. As Executive Manager, Responsible AI, you will translate regulatory, ethical and organisational expectations into clear standards, operational controls and embedded practices across the AI lifecycle. This is a strategy and execution role, requiring strong judgement, deep AI governance expertise, deep understanding the Responsible AI principle and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a complex environment. You will operate at the intersection of AI, governance, and responsible innovation, ensuring AI is deployed responsibly, delivers meaningful customer outcomes, and contributes positively to the broader community. Key responsibilities … * Lead the design and uplift of the end-to-end Responsible AI governance framework, covering areas such as transparency, bias mitigation, explainability etc * Drive the operationalisation of policies and frameworks, embedding clear guardrails across AI development and use, including for third-party and internal AI to manage AI risks * Act as the internal SME on AI regulation and risk frameworks, translating regulatory expectations into clear, implementable technical and governance requirements (e.g. ISO42001, ISO42005, NIST AI RMF, Australian Guidance for AI Adoption) * Provide senior guidance and decisioning support on Responsible AI risks, controls and trade-offs across strategic initiatives and executive forums * Define and implement technical capabilities that enable Responsible AI by design, including evaluation, monitoring, traceability and auditability * Uplift and scale governance tooling and processes, including leveraging AI to enhance Responsible AI oversight and improve efficiency of governance activities * Lead AI use case intake, triage and preliminary risk assessments, partnering with SME and technical teams to assess risks such as explainability and ensure appropriate human-in-the-loop controls etc * Maintain core enterprise capabilities (e.g. AI inventory, monitoring and reporting) to support transparency, accountability and effective risk management * Partner with business and technology teams to ensure AI solutions deliver genuine customer value while meeting ethical and risk expectations * Act as a senior connector across multiple stakeholders to balance safety, compliance and delivery speed, and drive a cohesive Responsible AI culture * Champion ethical AI use, including initiatives that deliver positive societal and community outcomes * Develop and deliver training and organisational uplift on Responsible AI expectations and requirements Skills & experience * Demonstrated experience operating at a senior leadership level, driving enterprise-wide strategy and execution initiatives * Strong experience in AI risk, governance, compliance, legal, technology or related disciplines within a regulated environment * Deep understanding of Responsible AI principles and ability to translate them into practical, scalable controls * Strong understanding of AI technologies, how they work, associated risks and how to manage them (e.g. bias, explainability, drift, misuse) * Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes across complex, cross-functional environments * Experience designing and implementing governance frameworks and lifecycle oversight processes * Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability with sound judgement * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance. POSITION SUMMARY Bayview Asset Management is seeking a Senior Analyst, AI Governance to enhance the firm’s enterprise technology governance function. This role is responsible for assisting in the establishing and overseeing of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance framework that ensures alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and operational excellence. This Sr. Analyst will oversee AI governance, model risk alignment, technology risk management, and regulatory compliance across the organization. This role serves as a key control function, partnering with IT, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, and business leadership to ensure safe, responsible, and compliant use of technology — including emerging AI and Generative AI capabilities. Location and Compensation: This role can be fully remote, however if a candidate is found in the Toronto area, it is preferred. The compensation available for this role can be between $130,000 - $160,000 CAD. This range is dependent on experience. There is also a performance-based bonus structure available.
