As a Quant Model Risk Vice President in the Model Risk Governance and Review team, you will be responsible for assessing and mitigating the risks associated with complex models used for valuation, risk measurement, capital calculation, and decision-making purposes. . Job Responsibilities * Perform thorough reviews of complex credit, interest rate, and equity pricing models, including valuation engines and reserve methodologies. Analyze the conceptual soundness, model design, and appropriateness of models for specific products and structures. * Evaluate model behavior and ensure the suitability of pricing models and engines for their intended applications, identifying potential limitations and areas for improvement. * Develop and implement alternative model benchmarks. Design and maintain robust model performance metrics to compare and monitor the outcomes of various models. * Continuously evaluate model performance, ensuring models remain fit for purpose and compliant with internal and regulatory standards. Recommend enhancements and oversee remediation where necessary. * Serve as the primary point of contact for the business regarding new model implementations and changes to existing models. Provide expert guidance on model usage, limitations, and governance requirements. * Liaise effectively with model developers, Risk, and Valuation Control Groups. Offer guidance and support on model risk management, validation standards, and regulatory expectations. * Manage and develop junior team members, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to foster their professional growth and enhance overall team performance. Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills * Advanced degree (MSc, PhD, or equivalent) in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, financial engineering, or related field. * Advanced knowledge of probability theory, stochastic processes, statistics, partial differential equations, and numerical analysis, with demonstrated ability to apply these concepts to financial modeling and risk assessment. * Deep understanding of option pricing theory and quantitative models for pricing and hedging derivatives, including familiarity with stochastic calculus and risk-neutral valuation. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an inquisitive mindset and the ability to formulate insightful questions, identify model limitations, and escalate issues appropriately. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex quantitative concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Proficient programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, or similar, with experience implementing numerical algorithms and developing model prototypes. * Demonstrated curiosity and ownership, with a strong willingness to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. * Extensive experience in front office model development or in model review, validation, and governance within financial services, with a strong understanding of credit, interest rate, and equity pricing models. At a senior level, you will act as the expert reviewer for high-risk processing activities and complex privacy decisions, provide escalation support across incidents and supplier risks, and coordinate privacy and AI integration planning for M&A activity. You will also provide transparent, confident assurance to the Group Compliance Officer / DPO and senior leadership on DP and AI risks, regulatory developments, and the maturity of Civica's governance posture. Deep experience building and scaling privacy and AI governance programmes, including operating a Privacy Information Management System (PIMS), managing RoPA, cross-border transfers, supplier assurance, and lifecycle governance, underpinned by strong metrics, dashboards, and stakeholder leadership. The Responsible AI team is part of the Advanced Technologies Group (ATG), Pinterest’s advanced machine learning team. ATG’s goal is to keep Pinterest at the forefront of machine learning technology across multiple use cases including recommendations, ranking, content understanding, and more. It is an applied team that works horizontally across the company on state of the art AI and ML and works on directly bringing that technology to the product in collaboration with product engineering teams. The team also publishes its work in applied research conferences, but the main goal of the team is to have a direct impact on business metrics. At Pinterest our goal is to inspire pinners (our users) to live the life they love. The product is powered by state of the art ML algorithms which are used to understand both the billions of visually rich items on the platform and the interests of our 550M+ monthly active users and recommend inspiring personalized content to them. What this means is that ML at Pinterest is not only multi-modal utilizing image, text, and graph signals as input, but it needs to operate at a very large scale and often in a real time interactive user experience. The Responsible AI team is a horizontal team that collaborates across the company on various initiatives. These range from Generative AI alignment, evaluation, and mitigations - ensuring these models are safe, bias-free, and aligned with Pinterest’s vision and policies - to championing ML Fairness and developing user-facing features that enhance our product for all users. This includes launching groundbreaking features such as user-controllable skin tone, hair pattern search refinements, and more recently, body type. We are looking for a Sr Machine Learning Engineer. You’ll help shape forward-thinking projects, develop advanced ML approaches rooted in fairness and equitability, and pioneer responsible AI safeguards for emerging technologies. By joining this team, you’ll make a lasting impact on our Pinners, our business, and the evolution of ethical AI at Pinterest. What you'll do: Design and drive projects in the responsible AI frontier to identify, avoid, and mitigate bias across a wide range of ML applications at Pinterest. These include but are not limited to Gen AI product evaluations, foundation models safety fine tuning and alignment, and Red Teaming. Collaborate with other engineering teams (trust and safety, ML Platform, Content Understanding, Search, Homefeed,) to leverage their platforms and signals and work with them to collaborate on the adoption and evaluation of Responsible AI practices and ML Fairness tooling across Pinterest. Mentor junior engineers on the Responsible AI team and across the company on the R-AI space. Work with the team and senior leaders at the company to define and drive technical strategy in this area. What we're looking for: Extensive, real-world experience applying advanced ML methods to production systems, with a strong track record in responsible technology - spanning fairness, ethics, and broader societal considerations. Deep familiarity with cutting-edge ML architectures (e.g., transformer-based models, 2-tower architectures, LLMs and VLMS) and their applications in large-scale Search and Recommender Systems. Proven ability to measure, deploy, and refine fairness interventions and broader Responsible AI solutions at scale, bridging state-of-the-art research with tangible product impact. 4+ years working experience in the engineering teams that build large-scale ML-driven user-facing products 1+ years experience leading cross-team engineering efforts. ICE Clear Europe is seeking a Director, Model Risk Management to lead its Model Risk Management team. The Model Risk Management team, part of the Risk Oversight Department, is responsible for all aspects of model risk, encompassing model governance & control, model validation, and model performance monitoring across a wide range of applications. This role is responsible for validating and monitoring risk models used in the clearing house, ensuring their accuracy, robustness, and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Manage and perform technical validations of pricing and risk models. This consists of assessing the conceptual soundness, performance and implementation of a model as well as the use, compliance with regulation and performing quantitative analyses, independent testing and challenging of data and models. Write and review high quality, detailed validation reports tailored to the audience (management, regulators). These include a detailed scope, model description, testing results and recommendations for model enhancements. Interacting with model owners, model developers, senior management etc., by whom your report and recommendations will be discussed and challenged.
