Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. In this role, you will be an expert in structured and unstructured safety pre-launch testing for Google's GenAI models and products, with a particular focus on the under-18 experience. You will partner closely with the technical abuse-fighting experts in trust and safety to understand launch requirements, and develop and implement testing protocols. You will leverage robust data analysis to provide quantitative and qualitative actionable insights on potential risks for mitigation by T&S and product teams. You will manage many stakeholders through effective relationship building, bringing an ordered and structured approach. You'll demonstrate analytical thinking through data-driven decision making and technical know-how, to collaborate across teams and execute quickly. This will be instrumental in shaping the future of AI development, ensuring that Google's AI products are safe for all users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$194,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Job Description

Overview This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States. Be part of the Model Risk Management (MRM) team, with a primary focus on conducting validations for the bank's CCAR stress testing and capital planning models. The team encompasses a diverse range of models, including Credit Risk models (PD, LGD, EAD, and loss forecasting), PPNR and ALM models (loan balance, deposit balance, net interest income, non-interest income, and non-interest expense), Moody’s Economics models, and operational loss models. Collaborate with validation manager to conduct independent model validations for one or more specific areas based on background and expertise. Verify that models are performing as expected and aligning with their design objectives and business use cases while identifying potential limitations and assumptions and assessing their potential impact. Conduct thorough and comprehensive validations of various model components, ensuring that they are accurate, reliable, and aligned with the intended business objectives and regulatory requirements. Apply data analysis techniques to assess the quality, integrity, and appropriateness of data used in the models. Examine data extraction, cleaning, transformation processes, and evaluate data-related assumptions and limitations. Scrutinize the model design and construction, verifying the suitability of the modeling framework and theory for the intended use. Review model segmentation, variable selection, model testing procedures, and evaluation model assumptions, limitations, and risks. Review model code to ensure correctness, accuracy, and absence of material errors. Collaborate with model developers to address any identified issues. Assess both in-sample and out-of-sample back test results; evaluate sensitivity and scenario testing, stress testing, benchmark model development, and quantitative and business performance metrics. Provide effective challenges and identify potential model risks. Recommend appropriate mitigation measures and enhancements to improve model quality and compliance with regulatory standards. Produce high-quality, comprehensive validation reports that clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and potential risks to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Ensure that validation documentation adheres to internal standards. Assist model validation manager in gathering and providing materials requested by internal audit and regulators, drafting responses to questions, and defending validations in exams. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in model validation and regulatory requirements. Contribute to the enhancement of the model validation framework by suggesting process improvements and implementing industry-leading methodologies. This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States. The base pay for this position is generally between $175,000 to $212,635 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Team description The Guild Lead Operational Control is responsible for leading efficiency and effectiveness solutions on model validation and model risk management activities across several key regulatory credit risk model domains. The Guild Lead leads high-value specialist teams facing increasing strategic challenges, driving quality, efficiency, and effective stakeholder relationships in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment. Specific Function Model Risk Management (MoRM) in a nutshell; Models are an imperfect reflection of reality. Models impact our business and we use models for decision making throughout ING. We need to manage uncertainties and shortcomings in our models, as there are risks involved. Are we sure that the output leads to the right decision? Models are a great asset but come with a risk that needs to be managed. The purpose of the Model Risk Management department is to ensure the models can add business value safely. That's why we've created a cross-domain Model Risk Management Framework helping us identifying, classifying, recording and validating models we use across ING. For example, Credit, Market, KYC, Operational and Pricing models. Together with our stakeholders in e.g. Model Development and COO Risk we try to obtain the best models for ING. Job description We are looking for an energetic, naturally collaborative, and hands-on Guild Lead to support the Head of Model Validation Credit Risk. Specific Tasks and Responsibilities Act as the lead for day-to-day operations for the CRMV tribe, handling escalations and translating overall strategy into effective guidance for all chapters. Drive efficiency and effectiveness in model validation by improving automation, data lineage and quality, validation processes, stakeholder engagement, GenAI adoption, and the global operating model. Take a leading role in all strategic improvement projects within the tribe and across the stakeholder landscape. Oversee significant operating expenses (approx. €9m per year) related to IT infrastructure and data. Engage with a wide range of internal stakeholders, including the Head of MoRM, Head of MRO, Heads and Chapter Leads of Model Validation Tribes, Model Owners, CAS, COO, and OPS&IT. Maintain effective relationships with external parties such as the ECB, local national banks, and external auditors. Represent the CRMV tribe in the CRMV Management Team. Lead change management initiatives, driving improvements in behaviour and processes that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the entire tribe. Influence senior stakeholders in Model Development, Model Owners, and Tech (COOR), and prepare proposals for senior management. Support the Leadership Team in ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies, including the Model Risk Management (MoRM) framework and governance. Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement, ensuring business needs are met and effective communication is maintained. Create long-term vision plans with the Tribe Lead, incorporating modelling, tech, HR, financial, regulatory, and board expectations, and manage the progression of initiatives to create impact. Efficiently allocate work by steering model validators, other chapter leads, and product owners, maintaining high-quality deliverables. Spot upcoming impediments and contribute to setting the tribe’s strategy and priorities. Specific Knowledge and Experience Deep technical & regulatory expertise (e.g. quantitative modelling, risk management, regulations, business), with ability to present & explain to a less technical audience. Strong expertise on IT- and data management Strong people development & leadership skills, with a learning/growth mindset. Contributing to & translating the Tribe strategy & regulatory developments into chapter improvements/deliverables (e.g. way-of-working, validation frameworks, other improvements, etc). Good stakeholder management & communication skills, flexible in approach while balancing internal priorities & regulatory expectations, thereby remaining critical, independent & keeping ground where needed. Document model performance summaries, trend analyses, and key monitoring artifacts in accordance with model risk policies. AI and GenAI Security Controls Define enterprise security controls for AI and Generative AI environments including secure model registries, model artifact integrity validation, cryptographic model signing, and verification of model provenance. The architect will establish security guardrails for Large Language Model (LLM) deployments including prompt injection protection, output filtering, content moderation, protection against sensitive data leakage, and secure implementation of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures. Address emerging risks such as model extraction, adversarial attacks, and inference manipulation. LLM Governance and AI Platforms Establish governance models for enterprise use of foundation models and generative AI technologies. Define architectural guardrails for AI orchestration frameworks and implement safety mechanisms. Governance policies will ensure responsible AI usage, secure prompt management, and compliance with enterprise data protection requirements. AI Threat Modeling and Advanced Security Lead AI threat modeling and risk assessments using frameworks such as MITRE ATLAS, OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. Address advanced AI security areas including AI supply chain security, model provenance verification, and security controls for autonomous AI agents. AI Security Monitoring and Observability Design monitoring capabilities for AI systems to ensure continuous oversight of model behavior, performance, and security posture. Regulatory Compliance Ensure that enterprise AI systems comply with global healthcare regulatory requirements including the EU AI Act. Support regulatory expectations for explainability, transparency, fairness, auditability, and human oversight in AI-driven systems. AI Security Center of Excellence and Governance Establish and lead an enterprise AI Security Center of Excellence responsible for defining AI security standards, architecture guidelines, security testing practices, and governance processes. AI Security Maturity Model Develop and maintain an enterprise AI Security Maturity Model that guides the organization’s journey toward secure AI adoption focusing on automated monitoring, continuous model validation, and AI-driven security analytics across enterprise AI platforms. Preferred AI Security Tooling Experience with emerging AI security platforms and tooling such as Lakera, ProtectAI, HiddenLayer, NVIDIA AI security stack, Garak LLM vulnerability scanner, and Microsoft PyRIT for AI red teaming is highly desirable. Qualifications Minimum 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information security with at least 6+ years in enterprise security architecture roles. Demonstrated experience securing AI platforms. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud and experience designing security architecture for modern data and AI platforms. Preferred Certifications CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, or ISSAP certifications are preferred. Additional certifications in AI governance, Responsible AI, cloud security architecture, or AI risk management are considered an advantage. Background on the Position This role resides within Firm Risk Management's Model Risk Management (MRM) group, which is responsible for oversight of models and tools risk across the Firm. The position focuses specifically on models used by Treasury-including Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), liquidity and funding-related models, and other Treasury analytical tools. The role is suited for individuals with strong quantitative skills, attention to detail, and an interest in financial risk management, markets, and balance sheet dynamics. Primary Responsibilities Conduct independent review and validation of Treasury and IRRBB models and tools, including methodologies supporting Net Interest Income (NII). The responsibility will also include developing deep understanding of Economic Value of Equity (EVE), behavioral models, interest rate risk methods, prepayment/decay models, term structure methodologies, liquidity modeling tools, and other Treasury analytics. Review models supporting stress testing, ICAAP, and other internal/external exercises, ensuring conceptual soundness, appropriateness of assumptions, and robustness of implementation. Support development and execution of MRM independent testing frameworks in accordance with regulatory expectations Perform quantitative testing, including sensitivity analyses, benchmarking, backtesting, and performance monitoring. Prepare clear and well structured validation reports for internal stakeholders (model developers, internal audit) and external regulators. Communicate validation results and methodological assessments effectively to internal audiences, including senior management. Firm Risk Management Master's degree in a quantitative or finance related discipline (e.g., Mathematical Finance, Statistics, Physics, Operations Research) preferred; Bachelor's degree with relevant experience considered. Strong statistical and quantitative skills - e.g., regression, time series, stochastic processes, Monte Carlo methods is preferred. Familiarity with financial risk modeling techniques and software like QRM, particularly those used in IRRBB, balance sheet management, and liquidity/treasury models. Programming proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar analytical tools. Prior experience developing or validating models related to IRRBB, Treasury, liquidity, or Asset Liability Management is a plus.
