The Chapter Lead (CL) within the Model Risk Portfolio Management & Frameworks team is pivotal in fostering both individual and team growth while ensuring the successful delivery of projects that enhance accountability and ownership of model risk within the 1st line of defence. This includes the challenge to change senior stakeholder's behaviour. The MoRM department will have significant different activities due to the reduction in staff and operating model between 1st and 2nd line risk management, as well as emerging risks or regulations (EU AI Act)

By balancing HR responsibilities with content expertise, the CL manages performance cycles, drives continuous improvement, and cultivates a feedback-rich culture. The CL inspires and supports team members in their career development, ensuring the right capacity and expertise are available for projects. Reporting directly to the Tribe Lead, the CL also plays a crucial role in aligning team capabilities with project requirements and supporting overall team strategic, longterm success.

Specific Function

Model Risk Management (MoRM) in a nutshell; Models are an imperfect reflection of reality. Models impact our business and we use models for decision making throughout ING. We need to manage uncertainties and shortcomings in our models, as there are risks involved. Are we sure that the output leads to the right decision? Models are a great asset but come with a risk that needs to be managed. The purpose of the Model Risk Management department is to ensure the models can add business value safely. That's why we've created a cross-domain Model Risk Management Framework helping us identifying, classifying, recording and validating models we use across ING. For example, Credit, Market, KYC, Operational and Pricing models. Together with our stakeholders in e.g. Model Development and COO Risk we try to obtain the best models for ING.

Oversee the MoRM framework, policy house, model risk management governance and controls, including core methodologies such as risk appetite, model classification and categorisation, and control standards.
Ensure overall coordination across the model risk lifecycle, providing oversight on performance levels of the model owner community and guidance for senior management stakeholders, challenging where necessary
Manage and develop a team of medior-senior level Model Risk Specialists, building skillsets and providing coaching and feedback on operations and stakeholder interaction.
Drive consistency across modelling tribes in both 1st and 2nd line, ensuring adherence to framework, policy, procedures, and strategic ambition.
Contribute to the tribe’s and department’s strategy, translating strategic priorities and roadmaps into executable chapter-specific plans.
Perform model risk controls to ensure effective execution of the MoRM Framework, including review and challenge of 1st Line of Defence controls.
Develop stakeholder engagement by identifying needs, supporting communication, and guiding stakeholders through portfolio deficiencies and their root causes.
Challenge model owners on their accountability for model risk and execution of 1st LoD controls across the model lifecycle.
Define business requirements for MoRM Framework updates and propose them for iModel implementations.
Coordinate aspects of model risk oversight in relation to AI, bridging the gap between AI and GenAI (executed by AI Risk CoE), and own the AI Risk Policy, AI Risk Framework, and AI Control Standards.
Set and continuously evaluate the level of Model Risk and the Risk Appetite for the organisation.
Write, train on, and evaluate the model risk management framework and governance, ensuring effective 2nd Line of Defence oversight and challenge.
Ensure effective communication with external parties, including the ECB and local national banks.

Specific Knowledge and Experience

Strong understanding of modelling techniques or quantitative background, their applications, and associated risks. Including knowledge on governance, formal approach and interaction with regulator. Knowledge of relevant regulations and ethical guidelines.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated track record of leading end to end high-impact modelling, framework and governance initiatives/projects and change management.

Role Description: We are looking for a Data & AI Governance Configuration Manager to join our Data & AI Governance organisation, managing a team of individual contributors and contractors on and off shore. The Configuration Manager must have demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a team of analysts and specialists (up to 5-7 people) in addition to demonstrated experience in managing large cross-organizational Data & AI Governance initiatives. Ideal candidates should have a technical background in Data & AI Governance Standards & Frameworks, Data Ownership & Stewardship, Risk Management, Regulatory Change, and Business Operations and various Data Governance tools. They must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. As Executive Manager, Responsible AI, you will translate regulatory, ethical and organisational expectations into clear standards, operational controls and embedded practices across the AI lifecycle. This is a strategy and execution role, requiring strong judgement, deep AI governance expertise, deep understanding the Responsible AI principle and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a complex environment. You will operate at the intersection of AI, governance, and responsible innovation, ensuring AI is deployed responsibly, delivers meaningful customer outcomes, and contributes positively to the broader community. Key responsibilities … * Lead the design and uplift of the end-to-end Responsible AI governance framework, covering areas such as transparency, bias mitigation, explainability etc * Drive the operationalisation of policies and frameworks, embedding clear guardrails across AI development and use, including for third-party and internal AI to manage AI risks * Act as the internal SME on AI regulation and risk frameworks, translating regulatory expectations into clear, implementable technical and governance requirements (e.g. ISO42001, ISO42005, NIST AI RMF, Australian Guidance for AI Adoption) * Provide senior guidance and decisioning support on Responsible AI risks, controls and trade-offs across strategic initiatives and executive forums * Define and implement technical capabilities that enable Responsible AI by design, including evaluation, monitoring, traceability and auditability * Uplift and scale governance tooling and processes, including leveraging AI to enhance Responsible AI oversight and improve efficiency of governance activities * Lead AI use case intake, triage and preliminary risk assessments, partnering with SME and technical teams to assess risks such as explainability and ensure appropriate human-in-the-loop controls etc * Maintain core enterprise capabilities (e.g. AI inventory, monitoring and reporting) to support transparency, accountability and effective risk management * Partner with business and technology teams to ensure AI solutions deliver genuine customer value while meeting ethical and risk expectations * Act as a senior connector across multiple stakeholders to balance safety, compliance and delivery speed, and drive a cohesive Responsible AI culture * Champion ethical AI use, including initiatives that deliver positive societal and community outcomes * Develop and deliver training and organisational uplift on Responsible AI expectations and requirements Skills & experience * Demonstrated experience operating at a senior leadership level, driving enterprise-wide strategy and execution initiatives * Strong experience in AI risk, governance, compliance, legal, technology or related disciplines within a regulated environment * Deep understanding of Responsible AI principles and ability to translate them into practical, scalable controls * Strong understanding of AI technologies, how they work, associated risks and how to manage them (e.g. bias, explainability, drift, misuse) * Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes across complex, cross-functional environments * Experience designing and implementing governance frameworks and lifecycle oversight processes * Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability with sound judgement * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance. POSITION SUMMARY Bayview Asset Management is seeking a Senior Analyst, AI Governance to enhance the firm’s enterprise technology governance function. This role is responsible for assisting in the establishing and overseeing of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance framework that ensures alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and operational excellence. This Sr. Analyst will oversee AI governance, model risk alignment, technology risk management, and regulatory compliance across the organization. This role serves as a key control function, partnering with IT, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, and business leadership to ensure safe, responsible, and compliant use of technology — including emerging AI and Generative AI capabilities. Location and Compensation: This role can be fully remote, however if a candidate is found in the Toronto area, it is preferred. The compensation available for this role can be between $130,000 - $160,000 CAD. This range is dependent on experience. There is also a performance-based bonus structure available.
