About the Role

As an AI Governance Lead Auditor, you will lead independent certification audits of client Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS) against ISO/IEC 42001. This is a dedicated Certification Body role and is distinct from consulting, advisory, or implementation activities. You will lead audit teams in evaluating complex AI lifecycles, including training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and decommissioning.

Your role is to evaluate objective evidence and determine conformity to ISO/IEC 42001 requirements. Audit conclusions directly inform the independent Certification Decision process. Certification decisions are made by a separate, authorized function to preserve impartiality and comply with ISO/IEC 17021-1 requirements. Depending on competence and authorization status, this role may also include service as an independent Certification Decision Maker for engagements in which the individual did not participate as an auditor.

What You’ll Do

• Lead Rigorous Certification Audits: Plan and execute Stage 1 and Stage 2 audits, applying the specialized requirements of ISO/IEC 42006. This includes risk-based sampling and the evaluation of AI risk management integration (ISO/IEC 23894).
• Navigate the AI Lifecycle: Assess governance effectiveness across the entire AI pipeline, identifying and grading nonconformities with precision and technical depth.
• Uphold Impartiality Guardrails: Operate under RSI’s formal impartiality controls. This includes strict adherence to "cooling-off" periods for former advisory clients and regular conflict-of-interest attestations to safeguard the CB’s independence.
• Engage with Accreditation Oversight: Participate in periodic accreditation body witness audits, demonstrating audit methodology and technical competence under external oversight as part of our accredited certification activities.

Competence & Authorization

Authorization to perform audits at RSI is a formal status granted through our documented competence evaluation and authorization framework. Candidates will undergo a structured review of:

• Technical Domain Expertise: Proven knowledge of AI architectures, data governance, and model validation.
• Standard Mastery: Proficient application of ISO/IEC 17021-1, 42001, and 42006.
• Performance Monitoring: Continuous authorization is maintained through ongoing performance monitoring, including workpaper reviews and witnessed audit evaluations.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience: 7+ years in GRC, cybersecurity, or management system assessment. Proven experience leading audit teams and managing complex client stakeholders is essential.
• Certifications: ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred. Candidates with active ISO Lead Auditor credentials (such as ISO 27001 or 9001) and demonstrated AI governance experience will be considered, provided they are prepared to obtain ISO/IEC 42001 authorization.

As an AI Governance Technical Expert, you will support ISO/IEC 42001 certification audits by providing specialized subject-matter expertise related to AI lifecycle governance, data governance, and model oversight. This is a Certification Body support role and is distinct from consulting, advisory, implementation, or audit leadership functions. Technical Experts supplement audit team competence but do not independently determine conformity, grade nonconformities, sign audit reports as Audit Team Leader, or participate in certification decisions. What You’ll Do

• Provide Technical Lifecycle Expertise: Support audit teams in evaluating AI governance controls across the lifecycle, including model governance, data governance, human oversight, and risk integration.
• Review Technical Artifacts: Analyze technical documentation, system descriptions, governance frameworks, validation records, and lifecycle evidence to provide structured input to the Audit Team Leader.
• Participate in Audit Interviews: Contribute domain expertise during interviews related to AI model development, validation practices, monitoring controls, and enterprise governance structures.
• Support Risk-Based Evaluation: Assist in assessing alignment with ISO/IEC 23894 AI risk management principles and integration into lifecycle governance processes.

Competence & Authorization

• Sector / Contextual Competence: Familiarity with SaaS / Enterprise AI governance environments, including enterprise IT governance structures and organizational oversight models.
• Independence Verification: Completion of conflict-of-interest screening and confirmation of no prohibited advisory involvement.
• Ongoing Monitoring: Performance review by Audit Team Leaders, quality review of technical input, and periodic independence attestation.

Technical Experts are authorized within defined technical categories and sector scopes. Assignment shall not occur outside authorized domains.

Job Description:

Financial Crime Model Validation Manager

The Financial Crime Model Validation Manager is expected to lead and execute model validation testing processes on systems which support Financial Crime programs, including transaction monitoring, customer risk assessment/rating, fraud detection and watchlist screening/interdiction systems.

Responsibilities will include designing and/or updating testing strategies (e.g., creation of or enhancement to risk and control matrices) which will aid in the independent testing of these systems. Testing could include control conceptual design testing, control operating effectiveness testing, and/or issue validation testing. Candidates will be required to execute analytical projects working closely with senior stakeholders and clients to deliver value to financial institution clients.

• Testing in the Model Validation domain will include:
• Review of model governance, including processes surrounding their effectiveness
• Critical challenge of model design and development
• Testing of data inputs, including data quality issues, data mapping, ETL processes, balancing and reconciliation controls, data lineage, throughput, and backtesting
• Testing that the model logic is working as intended
• Assessment of model user access controls, key performance indicators (KPIs), and alert review processes
• Evaluation of model performance, including tuning and sanctions sensitivity testing
• Documentation of testing using standardized work papers and model validation reports and other client deliverables
• Engagement Management: provide oversight and guidance to the testing team for efficient engagement delivery, maintain engagement budget, provide timely reporting of engagement progress to the client and engagement executive.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's and/or advanced degree with a concentration in Data Management or Analytics; Finance; Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Statistics/Mathematics.
• 4+ years of experience within the Financial Crime industry.
• 4+ years of model validation, AML system implementation, data lineage, or quality testing experience.
• Basic knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• Demonstrated experience with data analysis, business analysis, and data validation, activities with financial services institutions.
• Demonstrated experience with performing independent testing on models, including an understanding of risks/controls and experience documenting testing within workpapers.

Our organization

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Information, Data and AI, the Data and AI Governance Specialist will support the development and implementation of data policies, standards, and practices including the responsible use of AI. This role helps assess the impact of data on business processes and systems, identify opportunities to deliver new and innovative data solutions, facilitate data and data management activities as well as AI governance and risk assessments.

Key responsibilities include

Data Governance

• Working with the Manager, Enterprise Information, Data and AI to lead or participate in the design and ongoing improvement of enterprise-wide governance frameworks for data, information and records.
• Lead, facilitate and coordinate tactical governing bodies.
• Establish and maintain standards and guidelines for data quality, security, and privacy.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation on activities, decisions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with various departments on data governance objectives and standards and foster a culture of data stewardship, consistency, ethical data use, and accountability across the ASC.
• Recommend and integrate governance approaches for structured data and unstructured content.
• Conduct AI and data governance risk assessments to identify ethical, legal, privacy and reputational risks.
• Identify and recommend KPIs and success metrics and manage governance requirements for system implementation and migrations.
• Facilitate or participate in data and AI governance committees and working groups.

 AI Governance & AI Risk Management

• Building on the data governance framework, design and update AI governance policies, standards and processes.
• Lead the development and delivery of AI literacy programming and training to support informed and responsible AI adoption.
• Develop monitoring mechanisms to support oversight of AI use, compliance, and regulatory obligations.

Data Quality, Lifecycle Management, Compliance & Risk

• Conduct data quality assessments and collaborate with data engineers to resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive data catalog documenting data assets, lineage and usage and ensure accuracy of metadata.
• Monitor compliance with data privacy, security, quality, and retention requirements and produce related reports, dashboards and risk summaries.
• Automate applicable governance processes and data life cycle management including retention and archiving using MS Purview.

The ideal candidate will possess

• A diploma or university degree in computer science, information technology, or computer engineering.
• A minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in data management, risk management, data governance and related solutions.
• A least 3 years specializing in AI governance, framework design, and solution implementation is preferred.
• Relevant professional certifications are considered assets, including Microsoft Azure role-based, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), AI Governance Professional (AIGP) etc.
• Strong knowledge of implementing data governance tools, metadata management and associated processes.
• Direct experience with cloud services, particularly Azure and of enterprise repository, data modeling, data mapping, and data profiling tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence business and technical stakeholders.
• Proven organizational skills, including attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent critical thinking, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
• Experience in change management and driving adoption of data governance practices.

Position Summary
This is a highly technical individual contributor role. The Distinguished Engineer is expected to serve as a technical authority and trusted advisor for AI security and related infrastructure security domains.

This role is expected to dedicate significant time to hands-on engineering, including building reusable security patterns, reference architectures, and proof-of-concept implementations for AI systems and the platforms that support them. In parallel, the role provides expert governance, architectural guidance, and technical oversight to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant AI adoption across the enterprise.

The Distinguished Engineer will work closely with cross-functional partners to embed security into the AI lifecycle—from data and model development through deployment and operations—while helping shape enterprise strategy and standards based on real-world engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

AI Security Leadership (Primary Focus)
• Define and help execute the enterprise AI security strategy, spanning secure model selection, development, and deployment criteria, adversarial threat mitigation, and alignment with emerging AI governance requirements.
• Design, build, and maintain reusable AI security frameworks, reference patterns, and technical standards for model integrity, secure data pipelines, and privacy-preserving machine learning.
• Perform hands-on security assessments of AI systems, identify risks, and provide mitigation guidance based on AI security posture management and detection findings.

• Drive innovation in AI security techniques, controls, and tooling through applied research and practical implementation.
• Apply and guide the application of AI security frameworks such as MITRE ATLAS, NIST RMF, and emerging ISO/IEC AI standards to secure the end-to-end AI lifecycle.

Infrastructure Security Expertise (Secondary Focus)
• Apply Zero Trust principles to hybrid and cloud infrastructure environments supporting AI workloads, including workload identity, segmentation, and continuous verification.
• Partner closely with Enterprise Architecture and Platform Engineering to integrate AI security controls into infrastructure design patterns and shared services.
• Guide and, where appropriate, directly implement security capabilities across on-premises and cloud platforms to ensure consistent protection for AI and traditional systems.

Strategic Engineering Responsibilities
• Hands-on Engineering & Prototyping: Design and build proof-of-concept solutions, reference implementations, and reusable components to validate AI security and infrastructure security approaches. Provide ongoing technical support to teams implementing enterprise patterns and components.
• Framework and Pattern Development: Architect repeatable security patterns and guardrails that can be adopted by data science, engineering, and platform teams.
• Technology Evaluation: Research emerging AI and infrastructure security technologies to assess enterprise applicability and maturity. Ensure that enterprise components and solution architectures leverage the best commercial and open-source software and services available, and that the resulting AI security stack is minimally complex and massively scalable and economic.
• Technical Innovation: Translate emerging threats, research, and regulatory guidance into practical, actionable engineering solutions.

Governance, Advisory, and Oversight Responsibilities
• Provide expert design reviews and technical oversight for AI systems, platforms, and infrastructure architectures.
• Define and evolve AI security and infrastructure security standards in partnership with governance stakeholders.
• Advise on security-related business cases and strategic investments for AI platforms and capabilities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor to security, platform, and engineering teams on AI security best practices.
• Advise on enterprise response to emerging AI security threats.

Cross Functional-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
This role collaborates closely with key partners across the organization, including but not limited to:
• Data Science & Machine Learning Engineering: Embedding security into model development, evaluation, and deployment workflows.
• Platform, Cloud, and Infrastructure Engineering: Securing AI platforms, pipelines, and runtime environments.
• Legal, Privacy, and Compliance: Ensuring alignment with regulatory, privacy, and contractual requirements for AI systems and data usage.
• Enterprise Architecture: Aligning AI security patterns with broader enterprise technology and architecture standards.
• Risk Management and Audit: Supporting risk assessments, control validation, and audit readiness for AI-enabled systems.
• Application Development / Application Security: Partner with Application Security to provide technical support and guidance to embed security in AI development pipelines.

Additional Strategic and Leadership Responsibilities
• Set and guide technical direction for AI security and adjacent infrastructure security domains based on hands-on engineering insight.
• Influence enterprise technology strategy for secure AI adoption through thought leadership and practical guidance.

• Influence key technology partners and solution providers to ensure that their solutions comply with CVS Health AI Security standards.

Required Qualifications
• AI Security Frameworks: MITRE ATLAS, NIST RMF, ISACA AI Audit Toolkit, and emerging ISO/IEC AI security standards.
• AI Technologies: Expert conceptual and hands-on implementation knowledge of core ML and generative AI technologies including transformer-based NLP, LLM-based generative AI and agentic AI.
• AI Risk Management & Model Security: Threat modeling, adversarial defenses, model lifecycle security, and vulnerability management.
• Data Privacy & Protection: Privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), secure data handling patterns, and regulatory alignment (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

Required Experience
• 15+ years of AI experience, including significant depth in advanced technical or architectural roles.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience defining and integrating security standards and controls that aligned to established frameworks such as NIST CSF.
• Deep expertise in AI security concepts such as adversarial ML, secure model deployment, AI agent authorization, AI data loss protection, AI safety, and AI risk management.
• Strong background in Zero Trust architecture and hybrid infrastructure security.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence large-scale, cross-functional security initiatives.
• Hands-on experience building, deploying, and securing AI systems and platforms in enterprise environments.
• Practical experience applying AI security and risk management frameworks in real-world engineering contexts.

Preferred Qualifications
• CISSP and/or CISM preferred.
• AI security, cloud security, or data protection–focused certifications are a plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field required.

Model Validation (75%)

• Support senior managers in the development and execution of overall work plan
• Manage assigned validation/review projects and ensure a timely delivery of the validation report with high quality.
• Support senior managers in the on-going monitoring of AML and Fraud models to identify early warning of model performance deterioration and ensure proper mitigation/action plan in place in such situations;

Managerial Leadership (5%)

• Support the Senior Manager to continuously provide training to (internal or external) junior resources on model risk and/or validation related matters.

Governance (5%)

• Communicate model risk issues to the lines of business to ensure identified model risks are well understood and appropriate model risk mitigation actions implemented, escalating where necessary to the Senior Manager.
• Assist the Senior Manager to ensure all models covered by the team meet the requirement of the Enterprise Model Risk Management Framework,
• Assist the Senior Manager to ensure all models covered by the team are vetted and approved or issued an exception based on quality assurance to protect the bank from unjustified, undue, and unidentified risks due to the use of the models

• Support the Senior Manager for the optimal operation of the team, including identifying and implementing improvements to work, processes, and systems to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with all bank and external regulatory, corporate policy, and governance requirements

Assist the Senior Manager and Director of the AML & Fraud Model Validation (MV) team with enterprise-wide management of model risk so that the bank is not subject to unjustified (in a risk vs. return framework), undue, and unidentified risks due to the use of models and promoting the transparency and understanding of models and model risks used across the Bank in AML & Fraud areas. The mandate of this position is summarized as follows:

•  Effectively identify risks associated with models; timely, accurately and independently assess models used in the areas of responsibility; and tactfully provide the recommendations to model owners and users to mitigate the risks
•  Assist the Senior Manager to develop/continuously enhance model validation methodology; and conduct validation
•  Ensure that the models (development, documentation, usage, etc.) in AML, Fraud, Marketing and AI/ML areas are compliant with the Bank’s Enterprise Model Risk Framework, and are compliant with OSFI/FRB/OCC’s requirement
•  Provide advisory support to large-scale projects as required and other work streams as appropriate and requested to ensure that bank’s models are in line with industry best practice

Knowledge:

• Hands-on experience and advanced knowledge in AML or Fraud models (transaction monitoring, Watchlist Screening, Customer Risk Rating, credit card fraud, mar) etc.
• Good knowledge and relevant training in data mining, machine learning, and statistical analysis techniques, with minimal 3 years of demonstrated experience pertaining to AML/Fraud or machine learning, statistical modeling.
• In-depth knowledge of financial industry best practices
• Good knowledge of regulatory requirements on AML models; experience in regulatory matters as an asset
• Minimum: Master’s Degree, PhD. preferred in a quantitative field e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics and Engineering.
• AML Designation such as CAMS, ACAMS preferred

Seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our Model Risk Management Team as a Senior Analyst, Model Risk, Credit Risk. As a senior analyst in our second line of defense risk management, governance, and control function, you will play a pivotal role in the validation of credit risk models, such as Allowance (IFRS 9 /CECL/loss forecasting) models, Stress Testing (CCAR/EWST), operational risk, climate risk models and other initiatives. Financial Crime Model Validation Manager

The Financial Crime Model Validation Manager is expected to lead and execute model validation testing processes on systems which support Financial Crime programs, including transaction monitoring, customer risk assessment/rating, fraud detection and watchlist screening/interdiction systems.

Position Summary
This is a highly technical individual contributor role. The Distinguished Engineer is expected to serve as a technical authority and trusted advisor for AI security and related infrastructure security domains.

This role is expected to dedicate significant time to hands-on engineering, including building reusable security patterns, reference architectures, and proof-of-concept implementations for AI systems and the platforms that support them. In parallel, the role provides expert governance, architectural guidance, and technical oversight to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant AI adoption across the enterprise.

The Distinguished Engineer will work closely with cross-functional partners to embed security into the AI lifecycle—from data and model development through deployment and operations—while helping shape enterprise strategy and standards based on real-world engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

AI Security Leadership (Primary Focus)
• Define and help execute the enterprise AI security strategy, spanning secure model selection, development, and deployment criteria, adversarial threat mitigation, and alignment with emerging AI governance requirements.
• Design, build, and maintain reusable AI security frameworks, reference patterns, and technical standards for model integrity, secure data pipelines, and privacy-preserving machine learning.
• Perform hands-on security assessments of AI systems, identify risks, and provide mitigation guidance based on AI security posture management and detection findings.

• Drive innovation in AI security techniques, controls, and tooling through applied research and practical implementation.
• Apply and guide the application of AI security frameworks such as MITRE ATLAS, NIST RMF, and emerging ISO/IEC AI standards to secure the end-to-end AI lifecycle.

Infrastructure Security Expertise (Secondary Focus)
• Apply Zero Trust principles to hybrid and cloud infrastructure environments supporting AI workloads, including workload identity, segmentation, and continuous verification.
• Partner closely with Enterprise Architecture and Platform Engineering to integrate AI security controls into infrastructure design patterns and shared services.
• Guide and, where appropriate, directly implement security capabilities across on-premises and cloud platforms to ensure consistent protection for AI and traditional systems.

Strategic Engineering Responsibilities
• Hands-on Engineering & Prototyping: Design and build proof-of-concept solutions, reference implementations, and reusable components to validate AI security and infrastructure security approaches. Provide ongoing technical support to teams implementing enterprise patterns and components.
• Framework and Pattern Development: Architect repeatable security patterns and guardrails that can be adopted by data science, engineering, and platform teams.
• Technology Evaluation: Research emerging AI and infrastructure security technologies to assess enterprise applicability and maturity. Ensure that enterprise components and solution architectures leverage the best commercial and open-source software and services available, and that the resulting AI security stack is minimally complex and massively scalable and economic.

Governance, Advisory, and Oversight Responsibilities
• Provide expert design reviews and technical oversight for AI systems, platforms, and infrastructure architectures.
• Define and evolve AI security and infrastructure security standards in partnership with governance stakeholders.
• Advise on security-related business cases and strategic investments for AI platforms and capabilities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor to security, platform, and engineering teams on AI security best practices.
• Advise on enterprise response to emerging AI security threats.

Cross Functional-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
This role collaborates closely with key partners across the organization, including but not limited to:
• Data Science & Machine Learning Engineering: Embedding security into model development, evaluation, and deployment workflows.
• Platform, Cloud, and Infrastructure Engineering: Securing AI platforms, pipelines, and runtime environments.
• Legal, Privacy, and Compliance: Ensuring alignment with regulatory, privacy, and contractual requirements for AI systems and data usage.
• Enterprise Architecture: Aligning AI security patterns with broader enterprise technology and architecture standards.
• Risk Management and Audit: Supporting risk assessments, control validation, and audit readiness for AI-enabled systems.

Required Qualifications
• AI Security Frameworks: MITRE ATLAS, NIST RMF, ISACA AI Audit Toolkit, and emerging ISO/IEC AI security standards.
• AI Technologies: Expert conceptual and hands-on implementation knowledge of core ML and generative AI technologies including transformer-based NLP, LLM-based generative AI and agentic AI.
• AI Risk Management & Model Security: Threat modeling, adversarial defenses, model lifecycle security, and vulnerability management.
• Data Privacy & Protection: Privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), secure data handling patterns, and regulatory alignment (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

Required Experience
• 15+ years of AI experience, including significant depth in advanced technical or architectural roles.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience defining and integrating security standards and controls that aligned to established frameworks such as NIST CSF.
• Deep expertise in AI security concepts such as adversarial ML, secure model deployment, AI agent authorization, AI data loss protection, AI safety, and AI risk management.
• Strong background in Zero Trust architecture and hybrid infrastructure security.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence large-scale, cross-functional security initiatives.
• Hands-on experience building, deploying, and securing AI systems and platforms in enterprise environments.
• Practical experience applying AI security and risk management frameworks in real-world engineering contexts.

Preferred Qualifications
• CISSP and/or CISM preferred.
• AI security, cloud security, or data protection–focused certifications are a plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field required.
• Master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline strongly preferred.

Job responsibilities

• Facilitates security requirements clarification for multiple networks to enable multi-level security to satisfy organizational needs
• Enhances partnership with Application Owners (AOs) to proactively address changes in their applications. Embeds TRC involvement from the design phase (e.g., Quantum replatforming) to ensure compliance from the outset, rather than only at checkpoints.
• Provides senior leadership with visibility into key risks and blockers, including forecasting future issues. Ensures this is a standing agenda item in leadership meetings to highlight risks, weaknesses, and support AOs with prioritization.
• Takes formal responsibility for AWS module currency reporting and remediation, clarifying accountability for AOs and reducing confusion by embedding this within the risk team.
• Establishes closer linkage between the Technology Risk Committee (TRC) and AI Governance, recognizing that technology risk is key to AI governance. Partners with current governance processes to ensure secure deployment of AI use cases and integrates technology AI governance as a core component of the role.
• Acts as a key component in vendor onboarding, ensuring proper contract terms, advising on design, and shepherding vendor applications through internal processes. Early engagement prevents misinformation and streamlines onboarding (e.g., Sigma case study).
• Works with stakeholders and senior business leaders to recommend business modifications during periods of vulnerability
• Be responsible for triaging based on risk assessments of various threats and managing resources to cover impact of disruptive events

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software and/or security engineering concepts, with 5+ years of applied experience in enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to plan, design, and implement enterprise-level security solutions across diverse technology domains, including cloud and AI.
• Deep knowledge of software application development, technical processes, and security controls, with specialization in at least one area such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile technologies.
• Extensive experience with threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, discovery, and penetration testing, including risk triage and mitigation strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to independently tackle complex design and functionality problems, proactively identifying risks and blockers and driving remediation.

Role Summary:

The AI Governance Compliance Manager ensures AI systems meet regulatory requirements across the enterprise that span the AI governance lifecycle. This role sits at the intersection of legal, risk management, Cyber, data science, data engineering and technology governance. This role translates complex regulatory requirements into operational controls, designs standards and protocols for data and AI governance.  As RAIBs are operationalized, this role will be mission critical for enabling and designing controls, protocols and standards aligned to the McKesson’s AI policy, NIST-AI Risk Management framework, to drive enterprise AI enablement and deployment at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, operationalize and enforce governance frameworks that align AI deployments with regulatory requirements (NIST) and Enterprise AI policy translating legal requirements into operational controls
• Monitor regulatory and compliance requirements and map changes to affected internal AI systems and processes; continuously maintain all standards, guidelines and protocols
• Develop or refine governance controls that map regulatory requirements to operational procedures. Link specific requirement (regulatory / NIST) to implementation steps for business units.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience with stakeholder management, strategic communication, and ability to translate between technical and business audiences.
• Technical expertise includes risk assessment, AI audit methodologies and bias detection techniques, data governance and lineage tracking, model explainability tools, compliance monitoring platforms, and GRC tools e.g. Alation, Microsoft Purview, ServiceNow, and OneTrust.
• AI governance expertise spanning bias and fairness auditing, model risk management and validation, transparency and explainability documentation, data governance (quality, lineage, retention, consent) regulatory compliance mapping across jurisdictions, AI ethics framework development, algorithmic impact assessments.

Mandate

Assist the Senior Manager and Director of the AML & Fraud Model Validation (MV) team with enterprise-wide management of model risk so that the bank is not subject to unjustified (in a risk vs. return framework), undue, and unidentified risks due to the use of models and promoting the transparency and understanding of models and model risks used across the Bank in AML & Fraud areas. The mandate of this position is summarized as follows:

• Effectively identify risks associated with models; timely, accurately and independently assess models used in the areas of responsibility; and tactfully provide the recommendations to model owners and users to mitigate the risks
• Assist the Senior Manager to develop/continuously enhance model validation methodology; and conduct validation
• Ensure that the models (development, documentation, usage, etc.) in AML & Fraud areas are compliant with the Bank’s Enterprise Model Risk Framework, and are compliant with OSFI/FRB/OCC’s requirement
• Provide advisory support to large-scale projects as required and other work streams as appropriate and requested to ensure that bank’s models are in line with industry best practice
• Support the Senior Manager in the development and execution of overall work plan

Knowledge and Skills 

Knowledge:

• Hands-on experience and advanced knowledge in AML or Fraud models (transaction monitoring, Watchlist Screening, Customer Risk Rating, credit card fraud, mar) etc.

Model Validation (75%)

• Support senior managers in the development and execution of overall work plan
• Manage assigned validation/review projects and ensure a timely delivery of the validation report with high quality.
• Support senior managers in the on-going monitoring of AML and Fraud models to identify early warning of model performance deterioration and ensure proper mitigation/action plan in place in such situations;
• Perform research and analysis of applicable methodologies; benchmark model owners’ approaches; and present and recommend appropriate alternative for model developers;
• Produce validation reports, with clarify of issues and actionable items, including recommendations, to help the lines of business enhance the validated model
• Ensure model inventory is accurate and up-to-date, reflecting the model attributes as evidenced in relevant documentations.

Relationship Management (5%)

• Partner with the lines of business, corporate functions, and ERPM to enhance understanding of model risks relating to Corporate Risk models and ensure transparency of models used in their respective areas
• Build and manage relationships with the line of business/risk managers/executives in the joint implementation of strategic changes in the business by assisting model development via parallel-to-development model risk consulting. Act as internal consultant to proactively help the lines of business manage its’ model risk
• Provide support to large-scale projects as required and subject matter advisory support to other work streams as appropriate
• Develop relationships with other financial institutions; provide ongoing peer benchmarking support

Managerial Leadership (5%)

• Support the Senior Manager to continuously provide training to (internal or external) junior resources on model risk and/or validation related matters.

Governance (5%)

• Communicate model risk issues to the lines of business to ensure identified model risks are well understood and appropriate model risk mitigation actions implemented, escalating where necessary to the Senior Manager.
• Assist the Senior Manager to ensure all models covered by the team meet the requirement of the Enterprise Model Risk Management Framework,
• Assist the Senior Manager to ensure all models covered by the team are vetted and approved or issued an exception based on quality assurance to protect the bank from unjustified, undue, and unidentified risks due to the use of the models
• Assist the Senior Manager and work with Model Governance to ensure all AML models conditions are monitored and communicated with model owners on a timely basis to ensure the conditions are fulfilled in time.

Operational (5%)

• Assist the Senior Manager to ensure regular review process is followed, model conditions are monitored and fulfillment of conditions are assess on a timely basis
• Support the Senior Manager for the optimal operation of the team, including identifying and implementing improvements to work, processes, and systems to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with all bank and external regulatory, corporate policy, and governance requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Support security assessments of AI/ML systems and help identify, document, and prioritise AI‑specific risks.

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Enterprise Risk & AI Governance Officer - Executive Director within the Model Risk Management (MRM) Governance organization to serve as the enterprise owner of the Artificial Intelligence Risk Management Policy and Program.

This role is designed for a senior thought leader and a trusted advisor in AI governance who operates at a strategic, enterprise level, providing vision, structure, and oversight for how artificial intelligence is governed across the firm. The Senior Lead Enterprise Risk & AI Governance Officer will own the design, integrity, and evolution of this companywide framework, ensuring Wells Fargo maintains a clear, scalable, compliant, and future ready foundation for AI usage.

In this role, you will:
Enterprise AI Governance Vision & Program Architecture

• Architect and shape the AI Risk Management Program from a strategic perspective, defining the overarching framework, standards, controls, and oversight mechanisms that govern AI usage across the enterprise.

• Establish a clear operating model that defines how AI services and models are identified, assessed, governed, monitored, changed, and retired across their lifecycle.

The Position

The Associate Director, AI Security & Risk is a senior contributor responsible for leading enterprise-wide security, governance, and risk oversight for AI systems, agentic architectures, and data pipelines. This role partners deeply with AI developers, ML engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are secure, transparent, and aligned with regulatory and ethical expectations. The ideal candidate brings strong cybersecurity and risk management expertise, combined with a practical understanding of AI/ML technologies, agentic AI behavior, and emerging threat landscapes.

Responsibilities

·       Lead comprehensive AI security and risk assessments across models, data pipelines, agentic systems, and integrations.

·       Develop and maintain AI risk taxonomies, risk registers, and prioritization frameworks to track and mitigate emerging threats.

·       Establish and refine AI governance controls, including model documentation, access controls, data-handling standards, and compliance requirements.

·       Provide guidance to business and engineering teams on responsible AI usage, data leakage prevention, and model governance.

·       Partner closely with AI system developers, ML engineers, and agent-orchestration teams to embed security and risk controls throughout the AI lifecycle.

·       Present AI risk posture, emerging threats, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership, governance committees, and technical teams.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

B.S. Degree with at least 7 years overall work experience and at least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT risk, or related fields, with exposure to AI/ML environments.

·       Strong understanding of AI architectures, model lifecycles, data governance, and ML security risks.

·       Experience conducting risk assessments, threat modeling, and compliance reviews.

·       Excellent analytical, communication, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
