A fantastic opportunity has become available as a Senior Risk Manager in our growing Model Risk Oversight team. As a Senior Risk Manager you will be working across all business areas on implementation and compliance assessment of the Model Risk Policy and all related modelling standards. You will be responsible for the maintenance of the Bank’s model inventory, and reporting on model performance against risk appetite.

Please note; this is a 6 month fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

Work across all business areas on implementation and compliance assessment of Model Risk Policy.
Lead on periodic reviews of Model Risk Governance Policies and Standards.
Update and maintain the Model Inventory, risk assessment and reporting.
Track and report on the compliance of models with governance requirements.
Keep track of industry trends and regulatory requirements to continually enhance the Bank’s approach to model and AI risk.
Report to Committees on the performance of models, including against the Bank’s model risk appetite.
Develop an assurance plan for model and AI risk and undertake assurance reviews.

Description: Sunflower Bank is seeking a Model Risk Analyst to join its Enterprise Risk Management Department. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting the bank-wide Model Risk Management (MRM) program, focusing on the annual assessment process, maintaining the model inventory, assisting in planning model validation, independent validation, and ongoing monitoring of quantitative models. This role ensures that models—used for credit risk, liquidity risk, market risk, capital planning, and BSA/AML—are conceptually sound, documented according to policy, and compliant with regulatory standards (e.g., SR 26-2). Primary Responsibilities Maintain the model inventory, ensuring it is up-to-date by confirming assigned models have correct attributes (status, owner, risk tier, review dates, etc.). Assist in model identification, classification, and risk rating. Monitor the end-to-end issues management lifecycle of findings resulting from model validations, including tracking remediation progress and verifying closure documentation. Ensure key details (assumptions, inputs, purpose, limitations) are clearly recorded in model documentation. Perform hands-on validation of new and existing models, challenging conceptual soundness, assumptions, inputs, and performance metrics. Conduct annual reviews and write annual review reports. Act as a key point of contact with model developers and owners to discuss validation findings and provide "effective challenge". Support requests received from third parties and Internal Audit related to model risk. Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company. Education / Experience Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, or a related quantitative field; master’s preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in model development, model validation, quantitative risk management, or financial modeling and/or other related disciplines. Familiarity with Excel, SQL, Python, R, SAS, or other relevant languages for data analysis and code replication. As Executive Manager, Responsible AI, you will translate regulatory, ethical and organisational expectations into clear standards, operational controls and embedded practices across the AI lifecycle. This is a strategy and execution role, requiring strong judgement, deep AI governance expertise, deep understanding the Responsible AI principle and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a complex environment. You will operate at the intersection of AI, governance, and responsible innovation, ensuring AI is deployed responsibly, delivers meaningful customer outcomes, and contributes positively to the broader community. Key responsibilities … * Lead the design and uplift of the end-to-end Responsible AI governance framework, covering areas such as transparency, bias mitigation, explainability etc * Drive the operationalisation of policies and frameworks, embedding clear guardrails across AI development and use, including for third-party and internal AI to manage AI risks * Act as the internal SME on AI regulation and risk frameworks, translating regulatory expectations into clear, implementable technical and governance requirements (e.g. ISO42001, ISO42005, NIST AI RMF, Australian Guidance for AI Adoption) * Provide senior guidance and decisioning support on Responsible AI risks, controls and trade-offs across strategic initiatives and executive forums * Define and implement technical capabilities that enable Responsible AI by design, including evaluation, monitoring, traceability and auditability * Uplift and scale governance tooling and processes, including leveraging AI to enhance Responsible AI oversight and improve efficiency of governance activities * Lead AI use case intake, triage and preliminary risk assessments, partnering with SME and technical teams to assess risks such as explainability and ensure appropriate human-in-the-loop controls etc * Maintain core enterprise capabilities (e.g. AI inventory, monitoring and reporting) to support transparency, accountability and effective risk management * Partner with business and technology teams to ensure AI solutions deliver genuine customer value while meeting ethical and risk expectations * Act as a senior connector across multiple stakeholders to balance safety, compliance and delivery speed, and drive a cohesive Responsible AI culture * Champion ethical AI use, including initiatives that deliver positive societal and community outcomes * Develop and deliver training and organisational uplift on Responsible AI expectations and requirements Skills & experience * Demonstrated experience operating at a senior leadership level, driving enterprise-wide strategy and execution initiatives * Strong experience in AI risk, governance, compliance, legal, technology or related disciplines within a regulated environment * Deep understanding of Responsible AI principles and ability to translate them into practical, scalable controls * Strong understanding of AI technologies, how they work, associated risks and how to manage them (e.g. bias, explainability, drift, misuse) * Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes across complex, cross-functional environments * Experience designing and implementing governance frameworks and lifecycle oversight processes * Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability with sound judgement * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance. POSITION SUMMARY Bayview Asset Management is seeking a Senior Analyst, AI Governance to enhance the firm’s enterprise technology governance function. This role is responsible for assisting in the establishing and overseeing of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance framework that ensures alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and operational excellence. This Sr. Analyst will oversee AI governance, model risk alignment, technology risk management, and regulatory compliance across the organization. This role serves as a key control function, partnering with IT, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, and business leadership to ensure safe, responsible, and compliant use of technology — including emerging AI and Generative AI capabilities. Master’s degree preferred Experience in AI/IT governance, risk management, or a related field, with direct exposure to AI/ML governance strongly preferred Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management in the IT domain Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, or CGEIT are highly desirable. Location and Compensation: This role can be fully remote, however if a candidate is found in the Toronto area, it is preferred. The compensation available for this role can be between $130,000 - $160,000 CAD. This range is dependent on experience. There is also a performance-based bonus structure available.
