The Quantitative Model Risk Analyst supports the implementation and execution of the Bank-wide model risk management policy. This includes the review of complex models used within the organization, model development documentations, model code, and model performance. The Quantitative Model Risk Analyst prepares written validation reports, makes recommendations, and follows up and tracks ongoing model risk issues.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs independent validation of selected models to assess the conceptual soundness of model design and development, ongoing monitoring, and outcomes analysis.
Replicates the model code, reviews model development documentation and model inputs, processing, and outputs.
Develops and maintains effective partnerships with analysts, model owners, business level risk management teams and auditors, internal and external.
Prepares written model validation reports and provides recommendations for the design, development, back testing, implementation and recalibration of models owned by the model development team.
Tracks remediation progress and resolution status for identified model deficiencies.
Assists in the development and maintenance of comprehensive reporting on the deficiencies identified, remediation status, and other critical data elements with respect to remediation.
Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.
Analyzes and resolves problems.

Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) Business, Finance, Risk Analysis or related field.
Minimum experience required: 2+ years at a financial institution in risk management and/or model risk management, with a focus on an assigned specialty area such as BSA & Anti‑Money Laundering models, CECL and stress test models, credit risk rating models, asset liability management, treasury and liquidity models, or AI models.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education level preferred: Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent) Business, Finance, Risk Analysis or related field.

Job Competencies:

General knowledge of model lifecycle preferably in a bank or regulatory environment.
Knowledge of MS Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, ability to produce charts and graphs in Excel.
Strong project management and organization skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work appropriately.
Ability to work with all levels of management and staff across all lines of business in the Bank.

This is a strategy and execution role, requiring strong judgement, deep AI governance expertise, deep understanding the Responsible AI principle and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a complex environment. Key responsibilities … * Lead the design and uplift of the end-to-end Responsible AI governance framework, covering areas such as transparency, bias mitigation, explainability etc * Drive the operationalisation of policies and frameworks, embedding clear guardrails across AI development and use, including for third-party and internal AI to manage AI risks * Act as the internal SME on AI regulation and risk frameworks, translating regulatory expectations into clear, implementable technical and governance requirements (e.g. ISO42001, ISO42005, NIST AI RMF, Australian Guidance for AI Adoption) * Provide senior guidance and decisioning support on Responsible AI risks, controls and trade-offs across strategic initiatives and executive forums * Define and implement technical capabilities that enable Responsible AI by design, including evaluation, monitoring, traceability and auditability * Uplift and scale governance tooling and processes, including leveraging AI to enhance Responsible AI oversight and improve efficiency of governance activities * Lead AI use case intake, triage and preliminary risk assessments, partnering with SME and technical teams to assess risks such as explainability and ensure appropriate human-in-the-loop controls etc * Maintain core enterprise capabilities (e.g. AI inventory, monitoring and reporting) to support transparency, accountability and effective risk management * Partner with business and technology teams to ensure AI solutions deliver genuine customer value while meeting ethical and risk expectations * Act as a senior connector across multiple stakeholders to balance safety, compliance and delivery speed, and drive a cohesive Responsible AI culture * Champion ethical AI use, including initiatives that deliver positive societal and community outcomes * Develop and deliver training and organisational uplift on Responsible AI expectations and requirements Skills & experience * Demonstrated experience operating at a senior leadership level, driving enterprise-wide strategy and execution initiatives * Strong experience in AI risk, governance, compliance, legal, technology or related disciplines within a regulated environment * Deep understanding of Responsible AI principles and ability to translate them into practical, scalable controls * Strong understanding of AI technologies, how they work, associated risks and how to manage them (e.g. bias, explainability, drift, misuse) * Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes across complex, cross-functional environments * Experience designing and implementing governance frameworks and lifecycle oversight processes * Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability with sound judgement * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance. POSITION SUMMARY Bayview Asset Management is seeking a Senior Analyst, AI Governance to enhance the firm’s enterprise technology governance function. This role is responsible for assisting in the establishing and overseeing of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance framework that ensures alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and operational excellence. This Sr. Analyst will oversee AI governance, model risk alignment, technology risk management, and regulatory compliance across the organization. This role serves as a key control function, partnering with IT, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Information Security, and business leadership to ensure safe, responsible, and compliant use of technology — including emerging AI and Generative AI capabilities. Master’s degree preferred Experience in AI/IT governance, risk management, or a related field, with direct exposure to AI/ML governance strongly preferred Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management in the IT domain Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, or CGEIT are highly desirable. Location and Compensation: This role can be fully remote, however if a candidate is found in the Toronto area, it is preferred. The compensation available for this role can be between $130,000 - $160,000 CAD. This range is dependent on experience. There is also a performance-based bonus structure available.
